One important part of healing and activism for many survivors of interpersonal violence (sexual assault, childhood sexual abuse, relationship violence, stalking, and sexual harassment) is to tell their stories to others. The SAFE Center offers a Survivors’ Speakers Bureau for those who want to tell their stories. Primary and secondary (loved ones, friends and family) survivors are welcome to participate.
Survivors will complete a 3-hour orientation, and then speak for classes, programs, and conferences arranged through the SAFE Center. Many of the speaking opportunities are for panels, where multiple survivors share their stories together.
If you are interested in participating in our next orientation workshop, or to schedule a Survivors’ Speakers Bureau presentation for your group or organization, please contact Shyla via email at shyla.kallhoff@colostate.edu or by phone at 970-491-6384.
