INTERESTED IN WORKING AT THE SAFE CENTER?
PAID STUDENT STAFF POSITIONS
The SAFE Center Peer Leaders are the heart of SAFE Center. As campus leaders, they are charged with planting seeds and growing consent culture in the CSU campus community. This means creating and leading initiatives and programming that focus on interpersonal violence (i.e., sexual violence, relationship violence, and stalking), victim blaming, rape culture, gender socialization, healthy relationships, and sexual health and other systemic forms of marginalization that impact the lives of survivors. Additionally, SAFE Peer leaders are the grassroots organizers of our office who work to build relationships across campus, which are the crucial foundation to the change we seek.
SAFE Peer Leaders have done the work in a variety of forms: workshops, mixtapes, zines, flash mobs, poetry, visual art and videos, tabling on the plaza, and much more. In addition to flexing their creative muscles, members of the SAFE Peer Leaders gain direct experience in public speaking, program and event planning, and providing educational opportunities for the CSU campus community. SAFE Peer Leaders also act as the face of the office by staffing the front desk in the LSC Feminist Education Office.
Student Employment Hiring occurs during the spring semester.
